The colour hasn't come out quite right in the photo of this print that I have used for the cover of my beetle book. It was made as a sun print some years ago, and is much more brown than the burgundy/purple that it looks to be here. I was in too much of a hurry and didn't measure out the space for the word beetle on the right hand side and as a result it doesn't fit in one line. Is that a horrible mistake or some sort of creative flair or license I wonder? The large black beetles are stamped on after I glued the print to the cover. As usual, the stamp is one that I carved a while ago.
