Fifth in the Series.
Another piece in the world architecture series. This time Mexico was the country chosen, featuring the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza. I wish that I hadn't printed the series of skulls at the top right, and I further wish that I hadn't machine stitched them! I was trying to make them look a bit like the original rock carvings, but I don't think it worked. Probably would have been better without them.

The Next in the Series.
The next country chosen by one of our group of 7 for a textile piece based on it's architecture is Mexico, particularly the ancient Mayan site of Chichen Itza. The carved stone panel above is one that looked interesting and possible to have fun with, so I have chosen to work on the left hand bird-like image for my textile piece this month.
