Having spent an entire week sorting out my art supplies, I have now managed to make a couple of new prints. As someone who constantly tries new things, I have supplies for them all, from embroidery threads to fabric dyes, from fleece wool tops to silk for making silk paper, from marbling inks to polymer clay, from solar dyes to alcohol inks, from Gocco screens and bulbs to silk screens, from sewing threads to a stash of fabric....................and so it goes on! Thus it takes a week to tidy it all up and now I can't find what I want of course.
These 2 prints are my continuing efforts to use all the previously printed backgrounds. The top one may be a bit too busy and the one above might need a little more added, but it was good to get back to creating.

Rainy Day Occupation.
I decided on reflection that this print that I posted a picture of earlier, lacked a bit of something, so I used a collection of rubber stoppers that I had been hording for years to make random dots in places. I think I like it better this way, but as it's done now there is no going back!
This is another in my collection of back ground gelatine plate prints that am now going back into, adding various foliage and stamped embellishments. However, I rather like this one as is, and I might just leave it as that, although it really doesn't have a focal point, apart from the odd splashes of white.
I don't seem to be able to get the colours in this picture to accurately reflect the colours of the original, particularly the green of the fore ground. Still, it doesn't look too far off overall.

Bright Prints.
I'm not sure whether it's in response to the gloomy winter weather outside at the moment, or the gloomy thoughts of further lock downs due to the increase in virus cases in our state, but the colours in my prints seem to have become rather bright!
Both these prints use my faithful home made gelatine plate for the background and basic shapes, with the addition of my hand carved stamps and images of pressed leaves for focal interest.

First Stages.
With the weather turning really wintry, what better time to stay indoors and play with art! These prints are all the first stages, with several more layers to be added over the next few days. Here I used some pressed Ginkgo leaves, but they proved to be very brittle and broke after each use unfortunately.
I found a roll of old textured wall paper in a charity shop recently which I bought. I then stuck pieces onto a piece of cardboard and sealed them with shellac. The vertical patterns in the above 2 images are from this wall paper.
Some vegetation gathered on a morning walk have been used in this gelatin plate print. I think that rather than add more layers, I'll probably add further stamped images.

Getting Closer.
After I printed the first 2 layers of these, I went away for a few days, visited family members and just didn't get the time to add the next 3 layers. However today was the day and I finished 4 copies, all just slightly different from each other.
The one above has much lighter vertical lines, than the previous one, but I'm not really sure which I prefer. The darker one is more dramatic, but the individual elements of the lighter one show up better.

Reflections.
On a very still icy morning the reflections on a bush dam are jut so clear, like in a mirror.
Another body of water, not a dam this time but a waterlogged stretch of swamp land, a frog paradise!

Spring?
Going by the calendar, we are only just over 3 weeks into winter, but this prunus obviously believes that it is spring already!

Tree Stump.
This appears to be the remains of an old tree, probably a Cyprus of some sort I think. The
old stump however looks for all the world like a huge leaf, complete with veins. With the colours inverted it even looks like some weird undersea creature.
