I managed to get a couple of hours worth of sewing done and you can see the result, several more rows. The patterned hexagons are all cut out of the same piece of fabric, just rotating the triangles to take in a different aspect of the pattern which was of a collection of coloured flower pots, just the pots, no flowers.
It is certainly an easy way of getting multiple toning prints for a project like this.

Gorgeous! Do you have a post with the original fabric? I would be very interested to see it.
You have reminded me that I have a quilt almost finished, put away for at least 10 years! I might get it out and have a go at finishing it - maybe.
Hi Mary,
Thanks.
So far I haven't been able to find a photo of the original fabric. I'll have a look next week and see if I can find any that I didn't cut up. It was back in 2009 when I wasn't very diligent in taking progress photos.
