Although it has been beautiful Autumn weather, we desperately need rain. Our average March rainfall is 48 mm, but this March past we only had 8mm. The street Plane tree leaves are falling fast.
The various introduced plants are turning colour too.
I have heard that the trees lose their leaves early because they are so dry. So it is hard to tell if it is autumn or drought that is making the leaves fall. But it is definitely autumn, the football started this week!
I think that the drought plays a big part Mary. Our trees on top of the hill are almost bare, whereas the trees in streets lower down have barely started to lose their leaves.
