ok, I gotta know what this is a picture of! Guessing a caterpillar? My husband collects butterflies (thus I recognized that earlier one I commented on was a moth) but I don't know much about caterpillars. A distant relative was William Valentine Robinson and wife Mary McNaughton who moved to Melbourne in Oct 1861 when he accepted a position as a reporter with The Argus. An old letter (1894) from her states her address as "Callantina Glenferrie Rd Hawthorn Victoria Australia". Is that near you? They had 10 kids. Mary from was Edinburgh and William from Yorkshire. Please keep posting your photos, they are very good. Thanks.
Hi Molly, sorry, but it's not a caterpillar, but part of a plant. The seed/fruit cone of a Monstera. The note about your relative was very interesting, and yes I live very near to her address. Perhaps we can talk more about this on email? Sue
