Wonderful Winter Folliage

Here is a little bit of a break from travel photos for a while.

 

                            These succulents colour up beautifully with the onset of winter.

The Garden at Mount Stewart.

                          Just a few of the many wonderful and bizarre sculptures in this garden.

Duart Castle.

What a forbidding looking place this castle is looking out across the water!

         

 From the sea you can understand it's position to guard against marauders from the sea and land.

                                   How isolated Duart castle is, both in the past and even now.

Inverewe Garden & Tobermorey.

       This is the wonderful walled garden on the edge of the estuary at the Garden of Inverewe.

                           There was quite a lot of this very large lichen growing at Inverewe.

Here we were coming in to land at the village of Tobermorey, made famous as Ballymorey in the childrens' BBC TV series.

The Garden of Pitmedden.

                                     I don't fancy doing all that trimming and shaping at all.

                                              I do love these animated rabbits in the garden.

Edinburgh Museum.

 What a wonderful museum this is, from the light airy and spectacular building itself, to the well displayed and interesting exhibitions. One of the best museums in the world in my opinion!

Greyfriars Bobby.

          The little memorial to Greyfriars Bobby not far from the Greyfriars church in Edinburgh.

 The notice in the cemetery not far from the alleged burial place of Bobby.  Someone has thoughfully added the little bit at the bottom right!
