I hadn't realised that the centre of a flower could be so fascinating. It almost looks like some marine creature.

Old Spiral Staircase.

Tucked away in a corner of the library I spotted this wonderful old spiral staircase.  Access is not allowed these days, but in my imagination I can see librarians of old clutching stacks of books negotiating these stairs, successfully I hope!

State Library of Victoria.

            This is half of the famous domed octagonal reading room of the State Library of Victoria.

Labour of Love.

Also in the same garden of yesterday's post was this little bit of stone work. All placed by hand, the darker river pebbles caught my eye, what a labour of love to place and cement in all those pebbles!

Madonna of the Lilies.

Situated outside the toilet block (!) this serene Madonna with her posy of lilies caught my attention in a garden that I recently visited.
