Gardening under Difficulties

I was admiring a garden here on a blog, lamenting the fact that we have to keep everything covered against the marauding possums, rats and birds, while they can have everything uncovered.
Even enclosing everything like this, the animals still eat their way in.
                                                                          Like this!

They probably call it Eating Under Difficulties. You will just have to stop growing such delicious things.
My guess it is the rats that eat through the netting, we have had problems other years but last season didn't so much. We had an owl in the garden, thank goodness. Haven't seen it this year, so don't know what we will have happen.

I'm sure that you're right Mary, it can only be rats eating through the netting like that.
