All the dry mud on the right of this photo should be covered in water, but unfortunately the dam is nearly empty. Still enough for the kangaroos to drink though.
Unbelievably we had 11.5 ml the evening after that I took this photo. It fell very quickly and under a tin roof it was impossible to hold a conversation.

I read in the newspaper recently that we have had below average rainfall for 15 of the last 17 years. It is VERY dry.
